End Grain Cutting Board - Scattered

This is not a typical checkerboard end-grain board. The base is Bubinga (African Rosewood) Janka 1980 paired with Purpleheart Janka 1860 — I specifically match hardness within 10% so the board sands dead-flat and wears flat for decades. Bubinga + Purpleheart looks good on day one and dishes out in a year. In indoor light it's rich and dark, in sunlight the Purpleheart goes electric violet. This board finished at 11" x 13.25" x 1.75" thick after numerous glue-ups and a router sled flattening. At 1.75" it will never warp and it has the weight of a true butcher block — about 9.5 lbs.
